Craftivism at it’s Best
A little yarn can make a big statement!
We're joining Stitches Against Violence, a worldwide knitting and crocheting protest against gender-based violence.
On November 18 at 5:45 PM (CET) / 10:45 AM Appleton time, people around the world will pick up their needles and hooks for 20 minutes of peaceful protest, turning a simple act of crafting into a powerful show of solidarity.
❤️ Wear something red to show your support if you can.
🧶 All crafting abilities welcome! If you've been stitching for decades or are still figuring out which end of the crochet hook to use, come join us!
This international act of craftivism started in Vienna, Austria, and we're proud to add a little Appleton solidarity to the movement.
But here's the thing about time zones... While the worldwide protest kicks off at 10:45 AM our time, we know not everyone can drop everything on a Wednesday morning.
So we're making a day of it! We'll be stitching all day! Stop in whenever your schedule allows, bring your current project, and add your stitches to this worldwide act of solidarity.
Standing up against violence doesn't have to be loud. Sometimes it looks like a bunch of people sitting around with yarn, making something good happen.
